So Cooper came into the world in December. Remember the maternity shoot with his parents? With everything going on I am now posting his newborn photos. Cooper is SOOO cute. Every time his mommy posts a new picture on FB she just reinforces that. On New Years he had the cutest tuxedo t-shirt/onesie with sock shoes, I just got a flashback to Talladega Nights! I can’t wait to watch Cooper grow up.

I cannot gush enough about Karen & Patrick’s ceremony/reception site, Maria’s Vineyard in Dothan, AL. Driving past it I wouldn’t have thought anything about it. When it was time to turn, my first thought was, “This is it?”, I had been warned. From the front it is in an area with residences and a lot of acres per home on a two lane road in Dothan. The only thing welcoming you is an empty, unused carriage out front. There is plenty of parking on the side. And the second I walked behind the location it was photography love at first site. My only wish was that it was spring. I can only imagine Maria’s Vineyard in the spring, the grape vines green & purple with its fruit, the green grass, and the lovely juniper trees (which were green). I cannot encourage this location enough if you are planning something in Dothan. The weather was definitely fireplace worthy with Maria’s Vineyard supplied. The location was very modern rustic/shabby chic which is very trendy right now in weddings. Just a ton of awesome nooks to take beautiful photos, but since Patrick & Karen did not see each other before the ceremony time was limited to take intimate, artistic photos of couple. So as much as I had 5 million locations picked out we could only use two before we were summoned back to the reception. I guess a girl will have to dream until the next time Maria’s Vineyard calls my name… Patrick and Karen, it was a very fun night filled with wonderful guests!

It was COLD, but luckily my lovely assistant had a light colored jacket that looked pretty cute on Karen.

Karen at this point was explaining to Patrick that they have to cross arms, not give each other a drink.

Patrick’s look during the toasts was very sweet.

After Katie decided to use us for her wedding photography Katie & I were emailing back and forth discussing the best options for locations for their engagement shoot. Katie & Brett were deciding between a location that represented Tallahassee & FSU (which is where they first met). So I told her we could do both!

Katie is from Virginia & Brett is from South Florida. They met while they were attending FSU at a party through mutual friends. Brett’s best friend, who is in the wedding party, is partly to thank. I’ve also recently found out that not only do we have FSU in common, but Brett is a big Seattle Seahawks fan, they went to Seattle for a game this year. I thought my husband was the only odd Florida boy that cheered for the Seahawks for no good reason, luckily for him I am starting to realize that picking the team with the furthest geographical location is normal. Can’t wait to see you guys again in July or randomly bump into you at a local Tallahassee establishments before then.

The first time I met Destiny was at a very large thanksgiving dinner at her grandfather’s house. There were a lot of people and it was my first official thanksgiving with my now husband, so needless to say a little overwhelming. Then the second time we met her was at my own wedding, I was a bit busy with you know wedding stuff, so we didn’t really have the opportunity to have meaningful conversation. I didn’t even notice the ring on her finger I might have directed the single boys to her when they asked for the location of the single ladies during the reception… I wouldn’t have done that had I known Brandon at the time. Brandon was a really easy groom, and as you will see in the following pictures he only has eyes for Destiny. I have to send a shout out to Destiny’s grandfather, Matt, he is by far the coolest and he was one of the first people to approach me on that first Thanksgiving.

The DJ had all the men sing Destiny a song.  It was funny!  And Spencer, the little boy on the right with the sheet over his face, is SUPER cute.

Anyone that knows Destiny, know that she is a beach person & loves the sun.  So it was fitting for her to sit on the lounge chair in her dress.

Erin & Ryan were a lot of fun. They giggled, and just had a plain old good time. There is an interesting story behind this pair. Both moved to Texas after attending the University of Florida, Dallas to be exact. Both were attending their local UF alumni chapter meetings, became friends, bonded over going to UF, and then Ryan popped the question! Erin is actually from Gainesville, and of course with their alma mater here they decided to have their summer wedding here in the sunshine state. After hearing all the plans I am so excited to see what comes, there is going to be a karaoke machine for some fun, and I plan to capture the fun photos of the two belting out their favorite songs. They have only been to Gainesville together less than a handful of times, so I’m sure the next time we see each other will be in June!

You will see below that they got interviewed during the session!  How cool is that?!

They got interviewed during the shoot about their thoughts on Urban Meyer!  So we had to photograph that, and then they filmed us photographing Erin & Ryan… I guess that is fair!
