Yvonne and Justin were so CUTE together! Justin would make faces just to get a laugh out of Yvonne. We met up here in Tallahassee, they made the drive, and we are so glad they did. When Yvonne and I were planning the session she didn’t know places to shoot in Tallahassee, but knew she wanted nature. Well I know a lot of places around town that have nature settings. Even though she wanted nature I found out during the session she likes cities, well as long as there is a Publix and Target then she is happy! I know the feeling Yvonne!

Justin and Yvonne described the proposal to us during our time together, and I have to say is shoes were involved. This is a girl after my own heart!

We are a 2010 Wedding Wire bride’s choice winner! That’s right, our brides spoke, they love us, and it has been proven. As a result Wedding Wire gave us their highest honor as a winner, and I like winning!

So I quickly wanted to put up this blog entry telling the world how much we love our couples for choosing us to photograph such a wonderful and beautiful day in their lives, as well as completely trusting us. YAY!

These two drove down from Atlanta to allow us to capture their very fun engagement session. We walked through downtown Tallahassee finding little unique spaces to capture their photos.

Brittany and Joe light up the space they occupy. It was so much fun to watch them giggle and laugh at and with each other. Being serious for them lasted about one second before they would start laughing, which is adorable! We discussed their wedding plans for their August wedding, and it will be quite an event that I am extremely excited to photograph. Thanks for coming down here, and we can’t wait to see you in a few months!

So a few months ago a friend approached me and asked if I would be interested in giving something to the Junior League of Tallahassee’s Whales of a Sale and without hesitating I said, “Of course!”. There are a few things involved in Whale of a Sale, the first night there is a preview/silent auction (where my items will be up for grabs), and on Saturday they have a HUGE garage sale, all year long people donate gently used items and from what I hear it is really good stuff. Friday night is the night to attend, because the good stuff goes fast and this is the night to preview everything for sale on Saturday. This event funds a lot of their charitable events throughout the year.  The next part of the process was deciding what package to give them. I like helping charities, but my time is limited, so I do my part by giving things, it makes me happy! So this year I decided to donate two packages.

Item #1 for auction: A package for a wedding session such as an engagement, bridal or Mr. & Mrs. This comes with a disc. The couple can also instead choose to use the value of the session towards a wedding collection for wedding day photography.

Item #2 for auction: A family session package. 60 minute portrait session for a family, maternity, newborn, toddler, or anything else. This session also includes a disc.

I am so grateful I have the ability to donate to such a wonderful event! Can’t wait to see you there.

The photos below have nothing to do with the packages above, I just wanted to show something I’ve been doing recently. My husband brought home some wonderful textures for me to use on my photos. I just played around with my macro lens, color and the textures. Enjoy & tell me what you think!

Jenny & Lee opted to have a Mr. & Mrs. session also known as an After Wedding session. Look at their wedding images, I just love the big tree they were married under! The awesome thing about these sessions is there isn’t any pressure to get back to the reception after the ceremony (or before if you pick to do a first look before the ceremony). We spent over two beautiful hours with these two newlyweds taking fun photos. Jenny had scouted out the area before so we had some fun & some colorful locations to use. This was by far a REALLY great session. During their wedding Jenny didn’t want to take off her jacket because she has tattoos, towards the end of this session she was so comfortable with us we were able to convince her to shed the sleeves and show her real sleeves. Fun sessions like these make me so happy to be a wedding photographer.

The beautiful Mrs. Goostree!

wjennyafter(47)We started our photography session in Edens State Park where they were married. This place just screams, “Wedding Photography”!
wjennyafter(71)These two have kept every love note they have EVER written to each other! That is so awesome, we tried peeking to get their secrets. The coolest part is that most of them were written on post it notes, or the inside of a cereal box, or a piece of paper that was supposed to end up in trash, but they wrote a love note on it instead.
wjennyafter(96)The gates at old entrance to Edens State Park are beautiful.

wjennyafter(208)Jenny had found this little red barn the day before while exploring for fun places to photograph. The gentleman that owned the barn happened to be out on his property when she drove by and she asked for permission to photograph it and he was perfectly fine with it. What a nice man!
wjennyafter(241)There were so many cool images to choose from to post to represent the pictures in front of the red barn.  Just so hard to narrow them down.
