Travis, Kristen, Faith, Clayton and I all headed out to Maclay Gardens, fortunately for us the weather cooperated! We were forcasted to get some awful thunderstorms, but the weather held out for us and there was even a breeze! I’ve been to Maclay plenty of times for weddings, but this was our first family shoot at the Gardens. Boy was I amazed at the parts that I had never seen before! It is a photographer’s dream!!
Kristen really isn’t a Fortune yet… actually as of the shoot she and Travis were still dating (they had been dating longer than I had even known my husband). As of the posting of this blog though, Travis asked Kristen to marry him! So not only is she going to be a Fortune she is going to become a Step-Mom to two beautiful children. Congratulations to the both of you!

Travis made a joke… he asked if I had a priest waiting behind the gate to marry them… well the jokes on you! Now you’re engaged!

Clayton kept finding little tiny frogs and Faith wanted in on the action!

Clayton with a frog and Kristen showing her pouty face… she broke her shoe!

July 23, 2010Baylen, Parsons, and Emory all joined me up at the Southwood house on a Sunday afternoon. Emory got a new dress just for the occasion! Emory isn’t shy (I know, being she lives next door) but as soon as that camera came out shy she became! So we just let her be herself and so her personality shined through. She ran around, got tickled, played Duck Duck Goose (I love that game!) and she even put on a performance for us!
Smith Family in Southwood | Tallahassee, Florida
April 16, 2010It was a beautiful day as we went out to catch some sun with the Smith Family, first at the Southwood Golf Club and then to Central Park Lake. They are such a loving and playful group. Karen is just the mom of all moms, she is prepared (brought a little basket to the shoot) and so doting on her family! And the boys were so fun and active, climbing on trees, putting on the green, playing with sticks, climbing on the playground! It took everything to catch every bit of it. We just can’t wait until the grass greens up a little more!!! We love family sessions, they are just so much fun!!

Gavin is a C-U-T-I-E! We did think (and were wrong) that he would just sleep the whole shoot with us. Apparently he was fussy the night before… surely primping for our shoot the next day. Gavin showed us a range of emotions from curious to sleeping to full on crying. It was a beautiful day in Tallahassee and we had a wonderful time with Carrie, Rob, and Gavin and look forward to capturing more special events in their lives! Enjoy this time, I hear it goes by fast!

April 2, 2010So we headed out to the Miccosukee Greenway one beautiful early Spring afternoon with the Moores. We love this area… it just hadn’t greened up just yet, but don’t you worry as Spring comes into full bloom and Summer approaches, we will have plenty to show you from Miccosukee! Mandy, Chris, Mason, and Aubrey were so much fun. Mason gave us some cute and playful faces and Aubrey showed us how to clap… it was too cute! They even brought their own props, a red red wagon and bubbles! Now who doesn’t like bubbles?!<br>
We truly love what we do & our clients make it easy, to enjoy this path every day. Our style of photography is a blend of photojournalism and portrait photography... what we like to call portraitjournalism. We believe portraitjournalism mixes artistic posed portraits with fun and natural shots. As a situation unfolds naturally, we are often able to catch that part of you that makes you, well you. But, we also believe some posed portraits are necessary, as they document you, your family, and your friends at this specific time in your life. This blend of photography allows us to capture the memories in an artistic and creative way; one that portrays YOUR story through images.
